Originally a Seattle native, Rick returned in 1967 and was immediately bitten by the real estate bug. Starting that year locating property for a large construction firm, he worked with each property from site design stage to final permit for single and multi-family housing. Rick became a licensed real estate agent in 1969. Since then he has been a Realtor, retail and wholesale mortgage company owner, and a real estate investor working in multiple areas of real estate finance and sales throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Rick is proud and loud about working with one of the finest and important charities in the nation, MS Helping Hands, where he is currently a member of the board of directors. What is special about MSHH is that it is 100% volunteer operated and 100% of the funds donated to it are used to help people in need. The board of directors, officers, and volunteers who work for the organization and at the Donor Closet in Edmonds receive no salary or special benefits and no funds are spent in commercial fundraising or for collecting donations.
MSHH operates the Donor Closet at 409 Howell Way, Edmonds, WA 98020 to recycle mobility and durable medical equipment to people with and without multiple sclerosis who have been denied these items by insurance companies, government and other agencies and organizations, or who have fallen through the cracks of the social services system. Rick tries to exercise regularly by walking and bicycling the trails of St. Edwards State Park on Finn Hill, bowling, ballroom dancing, pseudo-golfing, hunting and trapping mushrooms in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, and getting in a little fishing.
